Gum

after a somewhat frustrating summer of results that were less than thrilling I've ended up with this batch of prints which are 2 layer, the first a light green and the second a slate grey. I thought slate grey would be an interesting selection because the rock in these images is for the most part actually slate.

now i’m trying to decide if i’ll leave these be as they are and start another batch or add another layer…

might be time to make some new negatives…

Ithaca, NY August 2016

This spring my high school photo teacher sent his mailing list some samples of photographs he had taken by overexposing the film by something like 11 stops and severely under developing. Last weekend I took a trip to Ithaca and decided to experiment with the extreme highlight/shadow context found in the gorges. This is what happened.

This year is looking to be one where i re-visit things i started learning in high school and fall back in love with photography.
